Enjoy a one day Concentrating on Colour creative knitting workshop with Brandon Mably from the Kaffe Fassett Design Studio, at Lady Sew and Sew Knits.
This workshop is for knitters who are interested in sharpening their colour observation in design. The event is being held at the Lady Sew and Sew Warehouse in Henley-on-Thames on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017, and you can apply for tickets here.
The course will inspire knitters to sharpen their observation of colour by working with a range of light and dark shade in contrasting tones. The experience gained should give knitters the confidence to use their own personal colour scheme in their designs in the future.
Brandon will give an introduction to the Persian Poppy design, and then students will work from a basic given graph which he will provide. He’ll also demonstrate the method of carrying yarn in fairisle and intarsia knitting and then work with students as they apply the technique to their own knitting.
Attention will be paid to colour, texture, pattern and everyone will work on a swatch using at least 12 colours.
Participants should know how to knit and purl – only the basic stocking stitch will be used in the workshop. Yarn will be provided, but bring your own needles – whichever size is most comfortable for you, but we suggest a range of UK 4-5.
You’d also need scissors, and you might want to bring a notebook and pencil, and/or a camera.
