It’s the final day of the London Knitting and Stitching Show here at Alexandra Palace, and today we’re joined on the Lady Sew and Sew Knits stand by wonderful Rowan designer Sarah Hatton.
Sarah learned to knit as a child, and after a degree in fashion moved into the world of professional hand knit, where she has worked with famous brands including Rowan.
Most recently she has been art directing some of Rowan’s photo shoots, and she says that “I love the hands-on approach to fashion that hand knit offers; it’s also wonderful to be able to make gifts for loved ones as well as stylish garments for yourself!”
Sarah rarely works in more than one colour, yet she produces amazing wearable garments that explore and push the boundaries of shape and texture.
Her recent publications include Sarah Hatton Knits – 10 Simple Crochet Projects for Cosy Homes, and she’s also one of the designers featured in Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 60, which is just out. It’s available at the show – or you can buy it from the Lady Sew and Sew Knits website here.
Sarah will be with us on stand TGB18 for an hour from 2pm today, where she’ll be signing her Rowan publications – come along and see us, and meet her.
Oh, and make sure not to miss Lady Sew and Sew on stand G17, with lots of great pattern ideas and amazing fabrics at excellent prices.
The Knitting & Stitching Show is at Alexandra Palace, London N22 7AY, and is open from 10am to 5pm today. Tickets are £14.50, with discounts available for concessions and juniors.
