Knitting & Stitching Show Alexandra Palace, Day 4: it’s Storey time!

We’ve been having a great time here at the Knitting & Stitching Show at London’s Alexandra Palace, meeting lots of old friends and making even more new ones – and today we welcome fabulous designer Martin Storey to the Lady Sew and Sew Knits stand, TGB18.

martin-storey_bwSince 2005 the lead designer for the Rowan Classic brand, Martin has been knitting since he was a kid, thanks to an inspirational primary school teacher, and says he always carries a notebook with him to sketch or jot down anything that inspires him.

A very influential designer, his understanding of what knitters want, together with a fantastic eye for texture and embellishment, make his garments a joy to look at and wear.

He’s also the designer behind the new Rowan Hemp Tweed Chunky Collection, for which you can get a free pattern booklet when you buy five balls or more of the yarn – see here for more details

Come along and meet him on stand TGB18, where he’ll be signing copies of his new books, Scandinavian Knits and Knitted Afghans – we think you’ll find his love of knitting as infectious as we do. He’ll be with us from 11am to 12 noon, and 2-3pm.

sarah-hatton_bwWe’re also welcoming designer Sarah Hatton (left) to the stand from 1-2pm, where she’ll be signing copies of featured Rowan publications – and if you’re coming to the show tomorrow, she’ll be with us from 2-3pm then, too.

Also on our stand we’re offering 15% off Rowan yarns, and have fashion shows and a host of ideas to inspire and enthuse you: if you’re as nuts about knits as we are, there’s only one place to be this weekend!

Meanwhile, here’s just a taste of what we’ve been up to so far at the show, both on Lady Sew and Sew Knits and at Lady Sew and Sew on stand G17, from offering great specials to meeting everyone from Great British Sewing Bee contestant turned fabulous top teacher Stuart Hillard (seen above with our Judy) to lots and lots of you, our customers. See you there!

The Knitting & Stitching Show is at Alexandra Palace, London N22 7AY from October 5th to the 9th, and is open from 10am each day, with late opening on Thursday 7th until 7pm. Tickets are £14.50, with discounts available for concessions and juniors.
